Coronavirus: Prepare Your Own Chloroquine Alternative at home

The biggest news right now is that the United States of America (USA) has approved the use of chloroquine for the treatment of coronavirus. Recall that some Nigerians had claimed that chloroquine has potentials of managing coronavirus.

However, there is fear right now that chloroquine will immediately get scarce and expensive. That of course is how Nigerians react in situations like this. We are a peculiar people who want to take advantage of every situation to make money.

If you don’t believe it, try to check out the price of hand sanitizer right now and compare with what it was before the coronavirus.

So, as we anticipate scarcity of chloroquine and/or a rise in price, we have a local alternative for you.

Here is it:

Get a bottle of local gin popularly known as OGOGORO. Note, I said OGOGORO not the branded gin or pelebe.

Get some handful leaves of the plant known as DOGOYARO (pictured). It is also known as Neem leaf and grows almost everywhere in Nigeria. Its botanical name is AZADIRATCHTA INDICA

Squeeze it mildly and soak into the bottle of OGOGORO.

Allow to ferment and take one shot in the morning and one shot at night.

This will work exactly like chloroquine, if not even better than that.

All the best!
